You are here: Home > Tanning Advice > The Convenience of Indoor Tanning
Today’s demanding and faster-paced lifestyles motivate people to find ways to do everything quicker and easier. We have fast food and microwaves. We have more leisure tine but many more leisure activities to engage in. In between earning a living, raising families, shopping, running a household, surfing the internet and participating in out favorite recreation, we find ourselves scurrying from job to home and trying to fit everything else in our schedule. Now with the advent of UV tanning equipment and the neighborhood salon, convenience is becoming a strong motivation for many who choose to tan indoors.

In most areas, you can tan indoors early in the morning before work or at night long after the sun sets. In selected cities, you can tan anytime you choose, twenty-four hours a day. The outright convenience of choosing when to tan makes salons an attractive alternative for the many who just can’t find the four to six hours a week it takes to achieve and maintain a tan outdoors. Further, in some areas of the country, heat, humidity or lack of sunshine make that choice uncomfortable if not impossible. So here I see a strong and valid reason that more of the population will soon find their way to their first sunbed experience. Be it at the closest full service salon, health club, beauty salon, quick stop and yes, even the Laundromats, more people will be tanning because it is easily accessible, affordable and convenient.

I believe indoor tanning has moved beyond the fad stages and appears to have endured the siege of bad publicity and misinformation of the past. It is here to stay and more people will gladly pay the nominal fees that are charged to help them look their best, feel good about themselves, and to obtain the many desirable benefits by tanning in the most convenient and most intelligent way possible. The future for tanning for the remainder of decade is very bright indeed.

When buying indoor tanning lotion sometimes it is hard to decide which one is best for you and your needs. But don’t worry, there are several different types of lotions to put an end to your dilemma. The main types of lotions are bronzer lotions, tingle lotions, and regular accelerator lotions. We will start with the accelerator lotion since it is the simplest. A regular accelerator tanning lotion is a lotion that has ingredients in it that will help hydrate your skin and tan your skin. When your skin is healthy and moisturized it can accept up to 40% more UV light. This is how the accelerator helps tan you. A tingle lotion helps the same way as the accelerator lotion but it has another ingredient in it that causes a tingling sensation to occur when applied. The reddening of the skin occurs because blood is being brought to the surface of the skin. When this happens it also brings oxygen which helps oxidize the melanin in your skin. That is how you get a great tan with a tingle tanning lotion. The last type of lotion is a bronzer lotion. A bronzer lotion has an ingredient that will help you tan by dying the skin. Don’t worry, today’s bronzers are very advanced and most will not leave streaks or leave you orange. This lotion when applied with the use of a tanning bed, and combined with a tingle, will provide the fastest results. Now that you know the different types of lotions, it is up to you to go to the tanning salon to give them a shot.
